Orientation

New to AA and unsure where to start?

The following groups conduct orientation meetings.  These are open meetings; which means that anyone may attend.  If you are interested in learning more about the disease of alcoholism, and the recovery program of Alcoholics Anonymous, you are invited to attend any or all of these meetings.

In Saint Paul

Every Saturday at 10:00 AM and Sunday at 9:00 AM, the Uptown House, 1344 Summit Avenue, conducts an orientation that lasts for one hour.  The topic rotation is as follows:

  • Living Sober
  • The Disease of Alcoholism
  • Step 1
  • Step 2
  • Step 3 and Spirituality
  • Sponsorship

Every Wednesday, the Main Idea AA Group, 520 North Robert Street, conducts an orientation that starts at 7:00 PM and lasts for one hour.

  • Alcoholism- "A Doctor's Opinion"
  • Step 1
  • Acceptance
  • There is a Solution
  • Sponsorship and avoiding relapse
In Stillwater

Every Sunday, the Saint Croix Alano Society, 208 3rd Street, conducts an orientation that starts at 6:00 PM and lasts for one hour.  The topic rotation is as follows:

  • "We Admitted" — Step 1
  • A Spiritual Solution — Steps 2 and 3
  • Inventory and Amends — Steps 4 - 9
  • Recovery and Service — Seps 10 - 12
