What is intergroup?

How is Intergroup organized?

The Saint Paul and Suburban Area Intergroup serves Ramsey, Washington and Dakota Counties.  Currently, there are groups meeting in approximately 250 locations in this area.  They represent over 8,000 individual AA members.

Each of these AA groups is entitled to elect a representative to Intergroup.  These Intergroup Representatives reflect the collective AA conscience for Intergroup.  They meet once a month (see Regular Service Meetings for details) at the Intergroup office and set the policy and direction for local AA service in the area, as well as providing a communication vehicle back to the AA groups and individual members.  The Intergroup Office is run by a full time paid manager under the general oversight of a Steering Committee elected annually from these Intergroup Representatives.
